Revolutionizing high-volume optical manufacturing
Humans perceive 80 percent of their environment visually, with their eyes – provided that the image is sharp. Digital image acquisition in combination with artificial intelligence has opened the use of machine vision to medical, automotive, IoT and consumer sectors. In cooperation with mcd – modern camera designs GmbH, FabuLens GmbH is developing a novel and paradigm-shifting method for the cost-effective production of high-precision imaging optics – the eyes of electronics. These are used in large quantities, e.g. in smartphone camera modules, optical sensor technology, automotive or single-use endoscopy.

Company
FabuLens GmbH is a subsidiary of the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation (SPRIN-D). We are developing the innovative LENSCURE ™ manufacturing process, which has the potential to bring a key technology of digital image acquisition back to Germany and thus strengthen Germany as a place for innovation. Our technology helps to untangle global supply chains, reduce dependencies from international suppliers and increase the resilience of entire European industries.
The best of both worlds
The high-volume manufacturing process LENSCURE ™, developed by FabuLens and mcd – modern camera designs , combines the advantages of precision optical injection molding with the scaling capabilities of wafer-level optics known from semiconductor manufacturing. This approach reduces the required number of machines, size of factory floor space, production cost and at the same time saves enormous amounts of energy.
Work with us
We are looking for people who want to shape the future of digital cameras with us. In order to achieve our goals, we need committed and enthusiastic people who want to develop new products and systems from Germany. As a subsidiary of the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation (SPRIN-D) with strong connections to leading research institutions and companies in our field – in Germany and worldwide- we lay the foundation for groundbreaking innovations that need cheap high-quality miniature optics.
